Support future CASA Fellows

For over 50 years, CASA has sent advanced Arabic students to Cairo, with a few years in Damascus and now Amman, to increase their proficiency level and experience every day life in a new part of the world. CASA has been very fortunate to have been funded by the US Department of Education (USED) from our founding year in 1967, though all 52 years except one so far. However, in recent years, the 4-year Fulbright-Hayes Group Projects Abroad funds are on a wait and see basis. We don't know from year to year if there will be a call or how many students the funds will cover. With the future of USED funding being unclear, we are working toward alternate ways to sustain and strengthen the program finances for the future. Our hope is to return to the days where we could send 40 plus students and faculty to their choice of Cairo or Amman. To get there, we need your continue support.

"When anyone asks me for advice on learning Arabic, my answer ultimately comes down to two words: Do CASA. For Arabic language learning, there is no better program, no more capable instructors, no more distinguished cadre of alumni anywhere in the world. Period."

—Stephen Kalin, Journalist and CASA Alumnus

"There exists no other program anywhere in the world that provides this breadth and depth of Arabic training at these levels. This level of training gives the US its academic and professional edge over the rest of the world."

—Kristen Brustad, Associate Professor of Arabic Studies, The University of Texas at Austin and CASA Alumna
